More on Antennae

With a bit of luck I successfully conveyed to you the complexities of trying to figure out what air frame had which antennae and when. With respect to markings and modifications, operational requirements of a very limited primary SAR resource played havoc with implementation schedules for painting and modifying individual aircraft. This resulted in what seemed like a never ending juggling act placing resources where they were most needed and still meeting the overall need to modify and refurbish the fleet.

I have intentionally avoided trying to sort out the less obvious antennae, such as ADF, UHF, VHF, radalt, VOR, TACAN, DECCA and probably other antenna that the 113s used over the many years it beat about Canadian skies. My best, in fact my only advice would be to pay strict attention to your photo resources to determine which antennae the aircraft you are modelling may have had at any given time.

So in this blog I am simply going to place more pictures here for the reader to scrutinize.

Note single small blade style antenna on sync shaft and HF side mounted blade antenna. There are several clues to help you date this picture.
